Hi everyone. I hope you enjoy browsing my photos of NORTH CYPRUS
CYPRUS is divided into two parts.
Most people go for their holidays in the Greek southern part...where there is a lot of activity, which is geared towards the younger age group....i.e. discos, lager louts etc.
If you are in the older age group, and want a more peaceful and relaxing time, North Cyprus....the Turkish part of Cyprus is an ideal place to go to.........although, younger people can also go...if they are well behaved!!
I have visited this part of Cyprus..TRNC..Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, since 2008, and as I have been there so many times, I have loads of photos of this beautiful country, which I am going to share with you.

Internationally, the TRNC is not recognised as a country, so you cannot fly directly there without a stopover at a Turkish airport enroute.
Up until 2016, passengers stayed onboard during this Turkish touchdown..of about 45 minutes.....but the rules have changed, so now you will have to get off and go through security before boarding another plane to fly through to Ercan (Lefkosa/Nicosia), which is the main airport in North Cyprus.
I have not visited since these rules were applied, so cannot comment on this procedure, but I guess that it will make the journey a little longer timewise.
There is an alternative way to fly direct to Larnaca in the south of the island, but the transfer time from the airport to resort is about 90 minutes compared to only 30 minutes from Ercan.
Also, Larnaca is a much bigger airport than Ercan.....probably taking longer to check in and collect luggage.
I've always flown into Ercan..and I like this airport, as it is smallish and easy to go through.
It has also been updated recently, and now looks like a nice modern airport.
I flew with Cyprus Turkish Airlines for a few years until they stopped trading, so now fly with Pegasus airlines, who offer a good service, flying out of the UK from Stansted airport.

I have always stayed in the resort called KYRENIA (GIRNE=Turkish name).
I think this is the most popular place, because of its beautiful harbour and many hotels.
Most of the hotels in North Cyprus, have a Casino attached to them...so if you like to gamble, this is the place to go. I myself have not been in the casinos, but I guess they do well, as there are usually posh cars and/or stretch limousines parked outside.
Possibly the next most popular resort to stay at is FAMAGUSTA (MAGUSA)...but I have only been there on day trips.
Then, NICOSIA (LEFKOSA) is the capital town, quite an interesting place with many things to see.
There are a lot of villages to explore......so hiring a car would be the best way to see them. Buses go to some of them, and there are always plenty of taxis.

The KARPAS area is the bit that sticks upwards like a pan handle.
Most of my photos have been put on this site, but I am still working on a few.....so please come back again to see if there is anything new on here.
