The Karpas area of North Cyprus...or... also known as the Pan handle, is always worth a visit. I have only been to this area on an organized day trip, but you can probably see much more if you hire a car. Here are the pics from my visit in March 2008.
These next photos are taken at Kervansary, where there is a lovely little (free....unless changed since my visits) beach. I found this beach in October 2009 when it was gorgeous.....the first 5 pics in slideshow. I visited again in March 2014, but no lovely beach....just rubbish and broken sun beds.......Not sure if this was because it was not high season, or if it has just been left un maintained.
The tiny village of Dogancoy is a short walk from Kyrenia, and these pics were taken on my visit in October 2015. Just found a little church and a cafe, a few houses, but not a lot else. Interesting though.
Bellapias is only a short distance from Kyrenia. No bus service, so you must get there by taxi or if you are energetic, it can be walked. It's a lovely little village, dominated by Bellapias Abbey...the ruins of a 13th century monestery. These photos were taken in March 2008.
LAPTA...another little village I visited in March 2008. This village also has some hotels down on the sea front.
